The vacation season is always an exciting challenge for our family. In everyday life, each of us has our own busy weekly program. But during these vacations, it's time to get back on track.
Today it's time for us as a family to master a number of team tasks together in and around the beer town of Bitburg. We start with the modern city rally "Actionbound" through Bitburg. The ticket for the mobile hunt is available from the tourist information office. From there, we follow in the footsteps of the Romans and brewers. We are guided to exciting places where we solve tricky puzzles and complete fun tasks.
We take a well-earned lunch break at the nearby Bitburg reservoir. We take a break at Ferdi's boathouse with its fantastic lakeside terrace for chips and cool refreshments. And then the lake casts its spell over us. "Everyone on board?" calls my husband Thomas - and then our family pedalo sets off. Thanks to our captain's clear course instructions, we manage to pedal just past the large fountain of water before it gets unintentionally quite wet for us. We glide at a leisurely pace across the calm lake, which glistens and sparkles so magically in the midday sun.
After an hour on the water, the fun continues right on the shore to the highlight of the day: a natural labyrinth.
This is located just under 2 km from the lake. We follow the sign "Hiking trail no. 16 " across the parking lot towards Biersdorf. This route takes us directly to our destination.
Here, too, we can put our knowledge to the test. At the entrance to the maze, we take a participation card - and then we explore together through the labyrinth of Igniscum - a knotweed plant. After 30 minutes, we have answered the questions and joined forces to find our way back to freedom.
Enriched by all kinds of new knowledge and interesting experiences, our day trip is now drawing to a close.
The fun with all these program points can be experienced daily until sunset, depending on the weather (Mondays-Saturdays from June to October).
