Pfarrkirche St. Luzia Eschfeld
Eschfeld
Open today
There is a special church in the small community of Eschfeld in the border triangle of Germany, Belgium and Luxenburg. In the years 1906 - 1921, Pastor Christoph März painted an open Bible on the walls and vaults. Interested visitors can admire the work.
On the ridge called "Castellberg" above Wallendorf, near where the Our flows into the Sauer, the Celtic Treveri built a fortified settlement similar to a town in the 2nd century BC. Today, almost nothing of it is visible above ground.
